My net graph

So, ever since about 8 months ago my internet has lagged really badly.. We have called our ISP several times but each time they do something it just gets worse.. or they say they have fixed something, when they in fact haven't done anything.

Here's 2 net graphs of how it looks like when I'm getting shot at or when there are a bit more action on the server.

The ironic thing is that my ISP's advert says they haven't got a sucky internet at all, and it should be top notch.. yet we've been having troubles with it for almost a year now. I would change ISP in a heartbeat if it was possible.

Every other person we've talked to with the same ISP as we use have said their network is lagging too... So until this shit is fixed, my ratio will suck badly.

I'm not sure if that it's a problem of your ISP. You use cable for your pc's connection? Or use WI-FI connection?

If it's the first option, try check the ping with a console (like cmd in windows or terminal in *nix systems) (in console: ping ip-server), and see how it move the time of the ping and if isn't good and stable, then you don't have nothing to do. Only wait until the ISP fix the problem (or buy a new connection :P )

If you use the second option, it's probably that you have a problem with the channel of youe wireless router. For fix it, try choose a channel that looks like a least congested.
There are many tools for check it.

P.S.: Sry by my bad english :P

Pinged the server ip 10 times and this is the result.

Pinging anything above 1472 bytes results in a request timed out:

I have tried with both wlan as well as wired connection (which is the one I use frequently). I have also put all my laptop internet settings to work well with both the switch as well as our router, nothing has helped. Believe me, I have tried to fix it locally... I even tried the 4G mobile network which is about 3 times faster than our broadband... and yet it was lagging. So that makes it pretty obvious that the issue is at my ISP's end and not mine.

I can also for a fact tell you that my laptop isn't some crappy second-hand one, but is actually meant for gaming: www.msi.com/product/nb/GE60-2PE-Apache-Pro.html#hero-overview

As for buying a new connection. I would do that, but the sad part is that we already have the fastest one available at this local location, which is 8mb/2mb..

Now I can understand your situation . I replayed the evaluation by ping
and I got almost the same .

Well, I think that by the time you run out of play for a while . :/
